Please be advised that this policy solely applies to initial and retest applications for certification and has no bearing on the requirements for certification renewal. Applicants who have tested unsuccessfully in the past and have not earned certification, those who are licensed in a state that does not yet require certification, or those whose degree conferral date fall within a timeframe to be affected by this policy should consider testing prior to implementation. ANCC has set the bar for nursing excellence since 1990, and today there are over 300,000 ANCC certified nurses. We are committed to administering high-quality certification programs that meet industry standards. Our APRN certification programs have achieved national accreditation from two accrediting agencies, the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) and the Accreditation Board for Specialty Nursing Certification (ABSNC). Additionally, ANCC also holds ISO 9001: 2015 certification.
