Challenge: Resolve Workplace Conflict - With Confidence

Conflict is a natural part of any workplace — especially in a work environment as dynamic and demanding as health care. However, most of us do not feel comfortable or equipped to resolve conflicts when they arise.

You can learn to effectively resolve workplace conflict. When managed with empathy, clarity, and intention, conflict can strengthen communication, build trust, and protect your emotional well-being, as well as that of your coworkers. This 10-day challenge will help you build the mindset and tools needed to manage work conflict with confidence.

The challenge starts December 1. Join here.

December 1-5 is National Influenza Vaccination Week

National Influenza Vaccination Week (NIVW) serves as a reminder that it is not too late to get your flu shot. With the holiday gatherings coming up, it's more important than ever to be immunized against the flu.  Learn more about NIVW,  flu vaccination, and the Wild to Mild flu vaccination campaign here at NFID's website.

Two research studies seeking participants

1 *Are you a healthcare profession who currently handles or has ever handled hazardous drugs? The University of Maryland School of Medicine’s Division of Occupational and Environmental Medicine is implementing a Hazardous Drug Exposure Registry with the purpose of:

  • Characterizing the demographics and exposure circumstances of oncology workers exposed to hazardous anti-cancer drugs
  • Assessing the burden of cancer, reproductive outcomes and other health risks that accrue to this population
  • Advocating for and promoting adoption of safety practices nationally with partners such as professional organizations and public health agencies

The survey takes about 45 minutes to complete. Data for the registry will be collected via a web-based data collection tool. For additional information contact: Danielle DeVeau Crawford at danielle.crawford@som.umaryland.edu. Access the survey here.

2* Johns Hopkins University SON invites you to participate in a research study exploring a new way to understand clinician well-being and integrity.

Self-care has long been recognized as essential for clinicians. However, the term is often oversimplified—reduced to surface-level solutions promoted by a multibillion-dollar wellness industry. Their team is developing a different approach: a validated scale to measure self-stewardship among nurses, doctors, social workers, and chaplains practicing in healthcare.

They are requesting that you participate by: Completing the survey (click on the QR code below or click the survey link below:
